I'm over 60 and in the early 70s Slough was quite a nice place. It is now a nightmare town.

Dear god what a complete snowflake you are. You felt edgey and scared walking down the highstreet lol. Honestly how on earth do you cope with life day or day I dont know. The town is run down like any other. The major high shops have all closed in the last 10 - 15 years. Companies have moved out the high street and into cheaper buildings. The town like most has a problem with homeless. The reason the shopping centre was half closed is they are planning to knock it all down and re-develop the site. Slough is not quite as bad as the scared little man makes out.

If a town is depressing on a sunny day you know its among the worst.

My Mum was born in Slough and we spent many a Saturday there as my Nan llved in Stoke Poges just down the road. My father opened his first shop there down the end of the high street in 1978, opposite Tommy Coopers joke shop adjacent to the Floral Arms. It was a much better town then and far more thriving. I guess the Amazons' of the world have killed it off, leaving it open to nothing but barbers, chicken and vape shops. Such a shame.

Its got a lovely tescos. And a big mosque where people can park wherever they please because the traffic wardens all attend there

Here's one you've probably heard before. It wasn't a bad place in the 70' n 80's . My mum used to take me on the bus to Slough to the market which was a mad place. Tommy Coopers brother had a joke shop there he was the spit of his brother, anyway I'd get something from there as a treat. It's a shit hole and no mistake but most places are multicultural and vibrant these days aren't they?
